In my work, I explore the tactile qualities of handmade elements and textures to harness my initial feelings and intuition. Then I clean and refine the finer details of the concept with my methods often arriving at the marriage of spontaneity to structure.
Bauhaus Chess Set
The goal of this project was to work together with students from the school of architecture at UH in order to animate the history of certain sites down Dowling St. in Third Ward. The map pin I designed was for a domino parlor on 2309 Holman St.
This chess set was inspired by the shapes and materiality of the Bauhaus school. The pieces and board are made from laser cut acrylic, the board has the final paragraph of the Bauhaus Manifesto.
The goal of these posters was to collect and visually represent data on the rate at which Americans have build houses and sprawling communities over the last 50 years and the affect they have on the economy, environment and quality of life.
